Tonight was not the night Harry was hoping it would be. All the memorys of things he wished he could have done instead started to rush back to him. He wasn't really sure what was about to happen, but at least they had a more solad direction this time, even if he didn't know how on earth to do what he was planned to. In his mind, he just knew it had to be done.

He was sitting at the opening of the tent this time. He needed some air, and also he was a bit nervous about them being found so he was guard watching for a while.

Harry was starting to feel like they had no direction of what they were doing. Dumbledore didnt really leave anything simple, and its not like Harry had any idea at all where or what the Horcruxes were suppose to be or look like. He had been told that the diary he destroyed his second year however, was a Horcrux. That was one down, but there were still more. And merlin knows how hard to destroy this things might be. From what he saw with Dumbledore this wasn't going to be something easy. All Harry had was the locket, at the moment it was around his neck for safe keeping.

Why did Dumbledore have to be gone. Along with Sirius. They both left Harry with nobody to look up to. Nobody to talk to about any of this. Sure there was Hermione and Ron, who had both came along with him to help, but neither of them knew him and what position he was in as well as his headmaster, or god-father. Hermione normally tried to talk Harry out of things that needed to be done in his opioin, lately Ron would back her up half of the time. Either that, or go on a rant about how they might get theirselves killed.

Didn't they understand that this wasn't going to be easy in the slightest. This is the same Dark Lord that had killed his parents. Killed Cedric. Killed tons of people. Did they think this was going to be a walk in the park? That someone was going to just solve it all for them? They weren't. It was Harry's job, and his alone. However, that didn't mean he had to be all that happy about it.

He glanced down at the ground, staring at his own worn down trainers. He started to tease the locket around his neck with his thumb, and a feeling of anger felt as if it was tugging at him. Drawing him closer. He shook it off when he heard his name being called from inside the tent. He stood up, sighed, and opened the tent flap to find both his friends looking at him with a nervous look on their face.

Hermione watched as Harry walked in. She was worried about him and was hoping he was ok. She gave a glance to Ron and then walked over to him. A lot of things has been happening and not everything was peaches and cream. A lot of it was bad.

The passing of their headmaster and Harry's godfather was terrible. Now that they were gone, it was harder for Harry to do the things he had to do. He had no one to look to except for her and Ron, but even they weren't enough sometimes. They would never be as wise as Dumbledore and Sirius.

Hermione placed a hand on Harry's arm gently. "Is everything alright Harry? Ron and I are worried about you." She looked at him sadly and then hugged him close. Harry was one of her best friends and she didn't like to see him like this. Of course if you think about it, Hermione was always worried about her friends, Ron and Harry.

She slowly pulled away, but kept her hands on his shoulders. "Whatever it is Harry, I'm sure it'll be alright and you know we are here for you." She dropped her hands and then backed away a bit. She stood there studying his facial expressions and gave him a half smile.

The room was quite, and it made Harry feel uncomfortable. He was glad when Hermione finally broke the silence with a quick, "Is everything alright Harry? Ron and I are worried about you." He glared at her, not really knowing he was doing so.

He didn't know how to answer the question. Because frankly, everything was not ok, yet Harry didn't want to admit it. He wasn't sure what to do, how to solve the problem ahead or them, or anything. He could only wish Dumbledore was here to help him.

A tug of anger entered Harry's head when Hermione let loose her grip from the warm hug she had given him. "No. I'm not ok. No. Everything is not fine Hermione!" he said trying to stop himself. Why was he acting like this? "What makes you think that everything is just fine? Voldemort's Death Eaters are after our tail, people are dying, anyone who used to help us is dead." The word made him tingle all over, and he looked over at Ron who looked like he was about to say something about Harry mentioning "He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named" with his real name. "Can it Ron." he added.

His emotions instantly felt empty, and he felt horrible for the scene that he just cause, and judging by the look on either of his friends faces, they were surprised as much as he was. "I'm sorry," he sighed. "I really don't mean to act like this, I understand you are both just trying to help." He looked down at the locket dangling around his neck. "Its this damn locket." he said tugging it off his neck, grabbing Hermione's hand, and dropping it into her fist. "Here you take it, I don't want to hold this thing any more for now. Its like it is cursed."

Ron watched anxiously as Harry pushed open the tent flap and walked into the room. Ron was nervous, he never knew what mood Harry was going to be in lately, ever since they had got the locket from the Ministry Harry's mood had been a constant roller coaster ride. The trio seemed unusually uncomfortable in each others presence, none of them knowing what to say to the other two. Finally Hermione broke the silence, carefully saying, "Is everything alright Harry? Ron and I are worried about you." Ron was shocked, why was Harry glaring at her? All she did was ask if he was alright.

As Hermione pulled away from the hug she had just given Harry, Harry exploded with anger, "No. I'm not ok. No. Everything is not fine Hermione! What makes you think that everything is just fine? Voldemort's Death Eaters are after our tail, people are dying, anyone who used to help us is dead." Ron flinched at the mention of You - Know - Who, Harry looked at him as he did, "Can it Ron."

Ron shook his head, got up from the floor and went and plonked himself on the bottom bunk, away from Harry and Hermione. He lay there listening as Harry's mood suddenly flipped back to normal as quickly as it had changed to anger, "I'm sorry," he sighed.

Ron sat upright, hitting his head on the bunk above him as he did, ignoring the throbbing pain on the top of his head he stormed over to Harry and Hermione and snatched the locket out of Hermione's hand. He pulled the chain over his head and dropped the locket down, under his T - shirt, "if this thing is cursed, you're not leaving it with Hermione, I'll take it," he said as he slumped down into the nearest armchair.

Hermione Granger was taken aback by the glaring look upon Harry's face. She knew it was difficult on him, yet that did not mean he could act like a bastard. So, when she took that step back, her arms dropping to her side, Harry seemed to loose all control. Hermione wanted to open her mouth, but she found that she could not utter a word. Harry's accusations were too harsh to bring anything in at the moment.

Of course she knew what Voldemort was up to, and that Harry was the only one who could stop him... "We know that Harry, we know that.", she said while raising her own voice this time. "But when are you going to put it in that bloody head of yours that we're in this together. We'd die for you, Harry, Ron and I... But the least you can do is give some of us some kind of sign that we can help.", she turned around, shaking her head in frustration as she took a few steps towards the place were Ron was laying. Grumbling, she turned around again, trying to sooth herself as she threw her arms in the air. "Harry, for god sake, we love you... Don't shove us away.", she ended almost desperately.

It seemed though, that Harry had calmed down again. She turned around again, a mixture of sorrow and pity reflection upon her face. At times like this, she hoped that she could just be back at Hogwarts, reading somewhere in the library, listening to the eternal gossips of Lavender and Parvati.. heck even the stupid smirk of Malfoy would bring her some joy, because then she knew she was back at Hogwarts...

How she missed that place, filled with knowledge. It had been hard for her to let go at first, it had been hard to give it all up, but on the other hand, here she was with her best friends, taking up a journey that could safe the entire world of wizardry.. and beyond.

Hermione's gaze settled upon the locket for a while. This was the reason they were all so emotionally and quick-tempered. Harry tugged it off and placed it in her hand. Right before she could close her hand around it though, Ron snatched it himself, claiming that he didn't want her to wear it. Hermione frowned slightly. Did she have to be mad about this because he didn't trust her with it, or should she be glad that he took up the courage to wear it himself, so that she wouldn't be bothered with it..?

"I'll take it next time then, Ron.", she said in a soft voice, staring at the ground for a few minutes. "After all... We all need some time off, I can't just let you and Harry switch it every time.. I should wear it too, just so the both of you can relax a little.."

It was then that Ron exploded back, which in all honestly, Harry knew he had the right to. He was acting like a royal jerk lately, completely stressed out that he sometimes managed to disregard how loving and helpful his friends were being to him. "If this thing is cursed, you're not leaving it with Hermione, I'll take it," Ron spat and slumped into the closest arm chair that was neatly placed in the tent.

Harry shrugged, "Fine with me," and it was. He was tired of the whole adventure actually. He sometimes wished that he could trade places with somebody else, have a normal life, and not have to deal with 'The Dark Lord', he could have parents, be a normal everyday student at the school of Hogwarts. Instead of having to be the one that many depended on as their 'savior' for the wizardry world.

He smiled at Hermione as she spoke, in a slight attempt to try to make things back to normal after his rather strange outburst. "I think that would be best. For some reason, this thing has an effect on people, or at least it did on me. What we really need to think about, is how to destroy it. Have you found anything interesting yet? Either of you?" He almost already knew the answer, but they had no leads at the moment, and nobody to ask how things were done this time either. All they had was each other, and Harry knew that they were going to have to learn together, without beating each other up over silly reasons or mistakes.

"Ok," he replied with a shrug, staring his feet so he didn't have to make eye contact with either of them. He was tired of all the bickering now, all they ever seemed to do lately was snap at each other, they were supposed to be the best of friends but it didn't seem that way lately. Ron was starting to regret coming with them, he wished he'd got on the Hogwarts Express on the 1st of September and headed off for months of Voldemort's Hogwarts.

He was starting to miss Hogwarts, the huge feasts in the Great Hall, quidditch, Hagrid and he even missed his lessons. Thinking about Hogwarts was making him hungry, thinking about plates full of roast potatoes and chicken wasn't a good idea when all you had to eat was a bit of stale bread and wild mushrooms that they had found in the forest. What Ron really missed though, was the rest of his friends, of course it's great going on a big adventure with your two best friends but it's not the same as sitting in the common room and chatting about the next quidditch match against Slytherin, drinking butter beer and eating chocolate frogs with the rest of the house.

"...What we really need to think about, is how to destroy it. Have you found anything interesting yet? Either of you?" Ron only caught the end of what Harry was saying, he was too lost in his own thoughts of Hogwarts and what was happening to Ginny and his other friends. Ron shrugged again, "I dunno mate," he leaned forward in his chair and looked up at Harry, "well we know the Basilisk fang destroyed the diary but I doubt Hermione's got a great dirty snake in her bag," Ron smiled at Hermione and then spoke again, "didn't you say Dumbledore destroyed a horcrux? We need to find out how he did it, maybe you need to do dark or really powerful magic or something." For the first time in a long while Ron felt like he was really doing something to stop the Dark Lord. He slumped back into the cushions of the armchair and waited for a response.

Hermione walked away from the two boys, straight towards her own sleeping space where her satchel lay open on the ground. The copy of 'the Beadle and the bard' Dumbledore had give her, along with some paper and clothes lay mixed through each other. Hermione of course had always been known as a girl who was very clean, prim and proper... But after months in a tent, and only a small satchel to put her belongings in.. What did you expect?

"What.." she started as she took out the Beadle and the bard. "That's brilliant, Ronald.", An illuming glow hung around the persona of Hermione Granger. "The basilisks fang crushed the diary. So, all we need to do is break this horcrux is find an old and magical .. thing.. that can break through the stone of the ring.

Of course the idea was more simple than the actual deed. She ran every single page of the Beadle and the Bard, hoping to find some secret message inscribed by Dumbledore. But just like the numerous other times she had looked through it, she couldn't find a thing.

Why, oh why, had Dumbledore given her this book if it was useless? Sure, Hermione Jane Granger loved ancient tales, yet at times like these, when they were of no use, she found them to be.. pure agony.

Frustrated, she kicked her satchel and closed to book with a loud thud. She stood up from her improvised bed and clacked her tongue a few times, pacing through the room and thinking out loud.

"So, we need something magical and something ancient that can break through the stone.. A wand.. A rock.. a tractor? No, that's a muggle thing.. yet extremely heavy..a sword or.. or..", she looked at Harry and Ron, agitation showing on her face. for once, Hermione Granger didn't know the answer to the question.

Throwing her arms up in the air, she sat down on the ground. Legs crossed, she cursed herself under her breath. Books didn't hold the wisdom she needed right now. For the very first time, books were letting her down.

Harry began to feel frustrated on their leads. Dumbledore left at the worst time. His mind began to slip back to that horrible moment. It was almost as if Dumbledore wanted to die. Which only frustrated Harry more. Pushing himself up from the soft chair, he began to pace around the tent with his hands gripping the back of his head in deep thought.

"Well we know the Basilisk fang destroyed the diary but I doubt Hermione's got a great dirty snake in her bag," Harry rolled his eyes. Of course he knew that, "Didn't you say Dumbledore destroyed a horcrux? We need to find out how he did it, maybe you need to do dark or really powerful magic or something." Harry glared at the ceiling of the tent wishing the answer would appear on the canvas.

He kept his mouth shut, holding back his random pointless responses, because honestly he figured they wouldn't help any of their stress levels to point out he, himself, had no idea what to do.

Then he noticed Hermione stare at her copy of Beadle and the bard. Harry had seen her bury her nose in the book, scanning it for any information Dumbledore might have left the Trio. Her gift from him seemed a bit lacking, Harry often agreed when she would complain about the exact thing.

Then, right after Hermione finished her thought, Harry burst out his. Almost yelling, Harry asked, "Hermione, you still have that painting of whats-his-name from Grimmauld Place we snatched?" asking rather eagerly, because maybe this could be something rather helpful.
